‘We can’t find workers!’ - Williams says jobs galore in Jamaica

March 12, 2025

Finance Minister Fayval Williams said Jamaica is experiencing an employment explosion like never before, so much that businesses are now scrambling to find workers.

Opening the 2025-2026 Budget Debate in the House of Representatives yesterday, Williams said that jobs abound in Jamaica.

"We can't find workers," Williams declared, driving home the reality of Jamaica's booming economy.

The minister pointed to data produced by the Statistical Institute of Jamaica, which shows that unemployment was measured at 3.5 per cent in October 2024, significantly less than the 14.9 per cent in October 2013.

The Opposition People's National Party (PNP) held the reins of power from 2012 and 2016. Since then, the Andrew Holness-led Government has been in charge of the country's affairs.

"More persons working in 2024 is the result of good policies by Prime Minister Andrew Holness led Government. Today, Madam Speaker, in 2025, jobs abound. We can't find workers!" Williams said.
