Illegal gun found under mattress

Police have arrested one man in relation to the seizure of an illegal gun in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Sunday.

Ronaldo Forbes, 26, otherwise called 'Naldo' and 'Chef', of Mullings Close, has been charged with possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition. Reports from the Spanish Town police are that a team conducted an operation at Forbes' house, during which the team searched the property. During the search, a P80 9mm Glock pistol with a magazine affixed containing 12 9mm cartridges was found under the mattress in his bedroom.

The firearm was seized, and Forbes was taken into custody, where he was charged following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney. His court date is being finalised.
