Bolt gets another award from UWI
Jamaican triple world record holder, Usain Bolt was presented with The University of The West Indies (UWI) Vice Chancellor's Alumni Exemplar Sports Award.
The Presentation of the inaugural award took place earlier today at the UWI, Mona by Vice Chancellor, Hilary Beckles.
Bolt posted a photograph from the presentation on Facebook with the caption, “Being recognised in your own country is always one of my proudest moments... Honoured to received the UWI Vice Chancellor's Alumni Exemplar Sports Award."
This is not the first award for the track star from the UWI. In 2008, he received an honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD) Degree from the institution.
In the same year, Bolt also received the National Honour, the Order of Distinction in the rank of Commander for outstanding service to Jamaica.
He was later inducted into the society of the Order of Jamaica (OJ) in 2009 by the Government of Jamaica, for outstanding distinction in the field of Sports. Additionally, Bolt was also conferred with the diplomatic title ‘Ambassador-at-Large’.
