In love with a man twice my age

February 05, 2025

Dear Pastor,

I am 32 years old. I got married five years ago, but I have been sexually active since I was about 19 years old.

I have always loved older men. I have one sister and she always asks me how is it I like older men. Her boyfriends were always young men. I did not get married when I was young. Now, I do not consider myself young, but a 65-year-old man has proposed to me. He was married, but his wife died. He lives in a beautiful home and is debt-free. I sat with him and went through his accounts and financial obligations, and I could not help but marvel at how he has been able to do it. Some of my friends think that this man is too old for me, but I love him and really don't care what people think.

This man is the same age as my father; in fact, he and my father get along very well. When I told my father that I am in love with him, he was shocked. He asked me if I knew what I was doing and I told him yes. My father wished me well. My mother said she cannot look at this man as her son-in-law. She is trying to find a way to describe him, but she is not standing in my way.

Look at it, Pastor. I don't have to worry about a mortgage, or what would happen when I get older. This man has everything, and he told me that his children would never be able to come and harass me. He is setting up everything to make me very happy. I am not asking you for your opinion, because whether you agree with me or not would not change what I intend to do. We intend to adopt a child after we are married. Although we have never met you, we would like you to officiate at our wedding when we are ready.

So I am giving you an early notice of our intention and our plans.

K.B.

Dear K.B.,

I can only wish you well. You have met a man you love and no one should stand in your way. This man has been accepted into your family. I wish both of you the very best in life. I stand ready to officiate at your wedding, if that is your wish. All the best.

Pastor
