HK takes Unique Talent 5th round

Showing steady improvement, the fifth round of the Unique Star Talent Contest unfolded recently at its Breadnut Hill, St Ann location before its biggest crowd to date.

The stage at the Unique Car Wash venue was also enhanced with decor while the back stage area had a more comfortable feel with the addition of seating.

At the end of the night the male dominated entrants did justice to their talent and only a mere two points separated the winner and second place.. Odane Harris who goes my the moniker HK took the top spot along with $7,000 and a place in the December finals.

A resident of Harrison Town and past student of Ocho Rios High, HK showed good stage craft for a 19-year-old. The teenager who is serious about a career in music has recorded songs with Dre Davis Records some of which are Only You, Run Dis and Life Ova Death.

He is hoping that this win will open doors for him as he aims at the $250,000 recording contract donated by Fab Five which awaits the winner in December.

The duo of Bada Set, a deejay and singer, just failed to grab the top spot and had to settle for the $3,000 second prize as well as a place in the finals. The duo from Parry Town who attended Marcus Garvey High School showed that their five years together was no waste of time. The two have also done recording and is looking forward to a boost from this contest.

Black Rock disco provided music. Lady Action filled the MC role while Racquel Ellis of Black Rock Promotion handed out the prize money. The sixth round takes place on October 30.
