SK International wins GSOG

Crowd favourite SK International sound system won the Guinness Sounds of Greatness Sound Clash final as they defeated Pink Panther in a war of words at Mas Camp, National Stadium recently.

SK International with selectors Anthony Stanley aka Shaka and Dwayne Moncrieffe aka Bigga Tuff, received a cheque for $650,000 for their efforts from Imru James, brand manager of Guinness.

Meanwhile, with the battle at high point, guest DJ Fire Links, spit out mainly yesterday tunes, mixed with a few hip hop singles to get the crowd warmed to his set. He had something to do with the career of both sets of selector hence didn't wanted to take any side.

Shaka, the self proclaimed ugliest DJ alive, spun, flipped and did almost anything to get a response from the crowd. His gimmicks did work as there was never a dull moment while he was on stage. Pink Panther was a worthy opponent as he sent lyrical jabs at Shaka and critised his opponents style of delivery.

With Shaka well ahead after two rounds, Pink Panther had to do something spectacular to pull of the victory but the dub for dub round was lacking by both competitors and the judges, Rory of veteran sound, Stone Love, and Mikey Bennett, made sure they knew this.

SK International were declared winners and fans of the sound system stormed the stage as confetti filled the night's air. There was also performances from dancehall artistes Demarco and the 'Gas boss' Ding Dong and Ravers Clavers.
