Gospel Spotlight: Oshane Mais believes he was created to worship

Oshane Mais is nothing short of excited after he released his second single entitled ‘ You Reign’ recently.

The 23-year-old, who has been a Christian for the past 10 years, said that this song speaks to the sacrifice that God made for His people.

He said that through this song, people can give thanks to their Father for the good things that He has done.

Mais, who currently has a day job, said that he is taking steps to be a full-time gospel singer because he believes that he has something special to bring to the table.

“I think I have a unique sound that many persons have not heard as yet, and I believe that I can contribute to the ministry in Jamaica,” he said.

‘Created to Worship’

He told THE WEEKEND STAR that he began this journey last January when he started the Oshane Mais Ministries, with the tag line, ‘Created to Worship’.

He said that it has been a blessing for him because he realised that people are giving him the support that he needs.

Born into a musical family, Mais said that he started his singing career at the age of nine when he sang in his church.

Since then, he has travelled across Jamaica, singing background vocals for various local and international artistes, such as Kimola Brown-Lowe and D-Murphy, to name a few.

‘Buss out’

He is considered a reserved person but, according to him, he is going to ‘buss out’ for Jesus, as he plans on releasing an EP by the end of the year.

“This is my second single. The first is Forever. The reaction is really good. There is a lot of airplay. Forever is really a commitment for me dedicating myself to ministry and calling others to be committed. Persons are expecting albums but not much is in my control. I want to do an EP before the end of the year, which will have about seven songs,” he said.
