Mr Easy unleashes a feel-good anthem
After a lengthy hiatus from the charts, reggae crooner Mr Easy is back with a bang. Known for his unforgettable crossover hit, Drive Me Crazy, the artiste who once ruled the charts is once again making waves with a hot new single titled Inside.
Released earlier this month, Inside is part of the Jamaica Meets Afrobeat compilation on the Emotions Riddim, which also features fellow dancehall artiste Erup. Mr Easy is confident his new release will hit because it possesses all the right ingredients.
"I believe the song has everything it needs to connect with the audience," Mr Easy said, brimming with confidence. "It brings together different musical styles, so it has broad appeal. Plus, it's a feel-good song with positive lyrics and an infectious melody," he adds.
Reflecting on his creative vision, Mr Easy reveals, "I wanted to create a song that transcends genres and speaks to a wide range of people. It's my tribute to Jamaica, to my woman, and to the power of music itself. I'm showcasing my artistic diversity."
Despite the drought of chart-topping hits in recent years, Mr Easy has never slowed down. He continues to record new music and remains dedicated to staying relevant in a constantly evolving industry.
"I stay relevant by being visible. I stay relevant by consistently making good music. I stay relevant by maintaining both a strong media and stage presence," he said.
"I release new songs regularly, and many of them have made an impact in various markets within reggae and dancehall. Oftentimes, people are grooving to a track and singing along, not realising it's my record," he said, highlighting his behind-the-scenes influence.
Inside was produced by Andre Villa of Onscope Records, who shared the story behind the track's creation.
"Mr Easy came to the studio to record for my other producer friend but he end up hearing the riddim, and that's how the song just started to get voiced and [he] forgot to voice for my next producer friend on his riddim," Villa explained.
