Gassie Ink says it’s a cold world
Producer-turned-artiste Gassie Ink recently released a new track titled Cold World, which was jointly produced by his Gassie Ink Records and Talk of the Town label.
Since its release on November 28, the song has been getting strong support on radio and the Internet. Gassie Ink, born Dave Antonio Barrett, said the song is reflective of his musical journey and an indifferent society.
"The song is really relatable, and it is impacting a lot of people. I wanted to sing about something that is affecting people from various cultures and regions, and we all can say today that the world is very cold," remarked the former St Mary's College student.
The rural St Andrew native also said that Cold World reflects his undying passion for music.
"I am inspired by my passion for good music. My style is unique and vibrant, but it is like consciousness with a different style," he said, adding that he was putting things in place to shoot a music video for his single.
Gassie Ink began his musical journey at the age of 14, playing on various sound systems. However, he released his first song in August 2016 when he recorded the track New Love, which he jointly produced with Walkway 30.
"I am inspired by Alton Ellis, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond, Gregory Isaacs, Sanchez and Wayne Wonder. These artistes rose from humble beginnings and became musical icons, and that is what I want to achieve for myself," said Gassie Ink.
