Substance through Lyrics and Understanding. This essentially sums up the mission and meaning behind the name SLU. Born and raised in the tough community of Swallowfield aka the 'battlefield,' his musical journey started in 2001, though mainly Dancehall, it has been a long and diverse one, from name changes to changes in musical influences, style and delivery. But SLU has managed to remain a realist, fearer of God, humble being and true talent. Since then SLU has become more educated in the business of music and has since then formed his own production team 'WHO A SLU INCORPORATION.' The production team is responsible for most of SLU's audio-visual productions and the first production from the team is the release of his viral single Real Style. This single is the first of many slated be to released that will highlight his lyrical prowess and versatility. With not much main stream success as yet SLU considers himself to be the "Dancehall Underground King", which he clearly exclaims with Real Style, a track packed with punch lines from start to finish. He identified with Dancehall at an early age because he could relate to the 'ghetto livity' echoed by artistes such as Bounty Killer, Buju Banton, Beenie Man and more so Sizzla Kalonji.
Dancehall became his release, his way of putting challenges in the ghetto into perspective and so he started expressing his personal thoughts and experiences through this medium. His musical journey was aided with the help of a few producers. His first song was produced by Franz Davis, and he was soon after introduced to Mario 'Mad Syantis' Lawrence, of Music Factory, who produced a number of songs which culminated in the release of the 'Suh We Grow' mix tape in 2010.
The production caught the attention of Lionel Thompson of 'Lionel Studio House,' and they decided to join forces in an effort to take SLU's career to the next level.

His supporting video for this song can be seen on his YouTube Channel and also on Hype TV.
Born Orane Heath in St Ann, Dustry has been able to captivate the attention of many and has received good reviews for his performances and recordings over the years. He says: "My grandfather had a juke box in his shop and we use to play it every day and I would know most of the songs word for word". Normally on Sundays at age 6 I would sit by the musicians each Sunday and I was very fascinated by the sounds the instruments made and how they play them. I would often zone out into space when they play and I could see myself on a stage of some sort with screaming audiences."
Some of his releases include Can You Tease Me, Best Herbs, Give Me Your Loving and Platinum.
