Health fair for Jacks Hill today
The Janet Claire Elizabeth Foundation (JCE) will be hosting a health and information fair for underprivileged and undeserved persons at the Jack's Hill Community Centre in St Andrew today.
The JCE Foundation is a new innovative and dynamic organisation that was established to memorialise the life and contributions of Janet Claire Elizabeth Jackson after her passing in 2014. In the most spirited way, Jackson used a significant portion of her life to serve vulnerable persons and underdeveloped communities, particularly in the Jack's Hill Village.
Service providers and exhibitors will include the Jamaica Family Planning Association and the National Health Fund. Child immunisation, counselling, Pap smears, HIV/STI testing, blood pressure checks, and prostate screening are just some of the tests and services that will be on offer.
Zuar Jarrett, director of the foundation and son of the late Jackson said, ''The JCE Foundation supports educational initiatives and development projects that seek to foster social inclusion and improve the standard of living for vulnerable Jamaicans. We want to help and educate communities that have little or no access to health care."
The JCE Foundation is a registered non-governmental organisation and is listed as an official charity as per the Charities Act and Companies Office of Jamaica.
