Carreras recently donated 32 tertiary scholarships and bursaries totalling $4.35 million at its 49th annual awards ceremony. The company recognises the importance of education to the social and economic development of Jamaica.

For this academic year, the awards are tenable at every major tertiary institution in Jamaica, as follows: nine bursaries, seven teachers' college scholarships, seven community scholarships, four national scholarships, and four visual and performing arts scholarships.

This year the company will again make its biennial award, one of Jamaica's premier postgraduate scholarships.
