Two men killed in Clarendon

January 09, 2016

With just over a week gone in the new year, the restive Clarendon Police division has already recorded multiple murders, as another two persons were killed in the parish on Thursday night.

According to police reports, a 25-year-old construction worker, Remone Watson, and 59-year-old farmer, Dennis Temple, lost their lives in separate gun attacks.

Reports are that Temple, of a New Ground, Chapelton address, was killed just minutes after 8 p.m. by unknown assailants who shot him several times.

"He (Temple) was killed sometime after 8 p.m. last night in his house. Residents heard loud explosions and summoned the police.

"When the police went to investigate, we found him dead with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his upper body," a police investigator told THE STAR.

The investigator, who was unable to say what was the motive for Temple's death, said the farmer was involved in a dispute with another man.

"We can't say at this time what may have led to his death, but we know he was in a dispute with another man. However, we can't say both incidents are related in anyway," he added.

Meanwhile, Watson of Havannah Heights, Four Paths, Clarendon, was found with multiple gunshot wounds at the back of his home early Friday morning.

This came after residents heard a barrage of shots being fired in the area on Thursday night.
