Police kill wanted man in Portmore
Raheem Chantiloupe, who was charged with murder in 2012 and was on was bail, was shot and killed by police in Naggo Head, Portmore, yesterday afternoon when he attempted to pull a firearm on the lawmen.
According to the Corporate Communication Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, around 3 p.m. the police got information that Chantiloupe, 23, was sitting in a bar in the community.
Chantiloupe's bail conditions prohibited him from visiting the community.
The report said that as the policemen, who were on foot patrol in the community, approached the bar, Chantiloupe tried to pull a firearm from his waistband.
He was shot by the police, then taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A semi automatic pistol with seven rounds were recovered.
