14-year-old girl shot by stray bullet

The Clarendon police have intensified the search for the gunmen who shot and injured a high school student while chasing a man in Hayes in the parish.

Information reaching THE STAR is that a successful emergency surgery was done last Sunday evening to remove a bullet from the abdomen of the Vere Technical High School student.

The girl, 14, was shot after gunmen chased a man who ran into her yard.

THE STAR was told that she is still hospitalised and recovering steadily.

Our news team understands that a counselling session is being planned for the students at the school.

The police said that they are following some leads with view of making an arrest soon.
