Student stabbed in neck during devotion
Afternoon devotion at a central Jamaica high school became a bloody scene last Thursday after two boys got into a fight and a broken glass was used by one of the students to stab the other.
Information reaching our news team is that one of the students received injuries to his neck and back, and had to be rushed to the hospital.
THE STAR was told that the wounds had to be stitched.
Yesterday, when our news team contacted school, the principal confirmed the incident, and told THE STAR that he was not at school when the incident transpired. He, however, said that the matter is being investigated.
"A student got a cut, and both are now back in school. An investigation is being carried out," the principal said.
When asked what transpired, the principal said: "It was a broken glass that a boy took up and cut another. He received stitches."
Our news team also checked with the police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) who told THE STAR that they have no report on the incident.
