Reggae singer/engineer/producer Ras Goldy was involved in a serious car accident last week that damaged his shoulder and elbow.

The accident took place when the singer was heading back to Kingston after a show. He was travelling in the back of a car with fellow artiste, Chan Dizzy, when the mishap occurred at the Treadways round-a-bout, St Catherine.

?I could have died, mi haffi give thanks. Mi just see the roundabout a rush towards we and then mi just black out. Everybody fly outta the car except the driver. Mi end up inna Linstead hospital with cuts and bruises. Right now, mi elbow and shoulder fractured, and behind mi ears swell up, but mi grateful to be alive,? he said.

Ras Goldy recently released an EP called ?Beware of Bad Lion? which features five songs by producers such as DJ Blizzard, Kantriman and Strike Gold Records. One of the songs is a combination with reggae star Richie Spice. He will be releasing a video for the single, Eye Red on the Gold Rush rhythm which is available on iTunes.

Ras Goldy is best known for the combination hit song with Chronixx called Mini where the artistes extol the virtues of women in short skirts. The single samples an original song recorded by Ras Goldy?s father Willie Francis, Oh What a Mini, which soared to the number one position in the 1970s.
