Entertainer Mr Vegas is today calling out organisers of a religious face-off set for month end, pointing out that he was never advised of any discussions and has not been formally invited to be part of any debate.

In a story carried by THE STAR yesterday, Mr Vegas was listed among three local persons who would be involved in discussions with the controversial pastor Gino Jennings about topics, including why women should not wear certain types of clothing or make-up to church.

Mr Vegas told THE STAR that he has long wanted to hold discussions with Jennings, but says no one contacted him about the debates set for May 26 and 27 at the YMCA on Hope Road, St Andrew.

"No one contacted me about this (the debate). I don't know anything about this. What they're trying to do is advertise this, and when I do not show up they're gonna say I backed out because I'm scared," he said. "I already see people posting in the comments that I'm not going to show up, but please note that I am overseas and I wasn't informed of this meeting."

Mr Vegas added that even though he was not formally invited to the debate and he believes this is a ploy to get people to think he is afraid of a face-off, he is open to having the discussion if the organisers reach out the correct way.

"If he wants to have a discussion, I am 100 per cent open to having a discussion with this pastor. All they have to do is go about it the right way. I have no reason to back down or back out of any discussion with any religious leader because I'm coming with the truth," Mr Vegas said.

SPEAKTHETRUTH

"I have questions I have to ask this man and a lot of the pastors out there. I have even more questions than trying to come with a debate kinda thing, and I'm going to show them up. So any pastor anywhere in the world want to have a conversation and willing to speak the truth, we ready, we nah back down."

Following the STAR interview, the entertainer took to his social media pages to let his followers know that he was never invited to be part of any discussions. He urged them not to show up to the discussions to hear him debate unless he has been formally invited to speak.

Pastor Jennings has been 'public enemy number one' in Jamaica over the past few months after a video of him classifying women who chose to be fashionably dressed in church as 'whores' went viral. He is set to face off with local pastors Dr Reverend Carla Dunbar and Reverend Phylllis Smith-Seymour.
