It will be truckloads of excitement when the RJRGLEANER Group’s Cross Country Invasion unloads this weekend in Region Three, which comprises Clarendon, St Elizabeth and Manchester. THE STAR and FAME FM will join forces to entertain the massive and it will be epic.

Nicarno Williams, marketing and special events supervisor within the group, shared that, as is the norm, a church service was held to signal the start of a hectic week of activities, which will culminate with the high- energy Street Jam on Friday and the Road Show and Family Fun Day on Saturday.

Really special

“For Region Three, the church service was held at the St Matthew’s Anglican Church in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth, and following that, there have been activities throughout the week. Then, on Friday, there will be a Street Jam in Siloah, St Elizabeth, which is really special, as this is the very first time that we are going there,” Williams said.

He advised that it will be a total and complete street takeover. Attendees will be treated to an intense musical juggling in the town square, courtesy of FAME FM, and the outside broadcasts, a main component of the Street Jam, gets into gear at 5 p.m. During this segment, there will be lots of attractive prizes to be won by answering questions about the media brands, along with a delightful assortment of giveaways.

An extra special feature this time around, will be a jingle competition, which is sure to cause a lot of buzz.

“The STAR will be giving away $10,000 to the person who can create the best jingle about the people’s paper. The contestants will come up and deliver their jingle and at the end of the competition, the crowd will decide the winner,” he said.

And then on Saturday, the Manchester High School will host the highly anticipated Road Show and Family Fun Day, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Some of the artistes who have signed on to the RJRGLEANER Group’s Cross Country Invasion will be present to entertain at both the Street Jam and the Road Show. This year’s roster includes Munga Honorable, Beenie Man, D’Angel, Busy Signal, Macka Diamond, Kemar Highcon and Ikea.
