Stung by Likkle Addi's denial that he is the father of her child, Kayla 'Chy Chy' Gardiner has resigned herself to being a single mother and main provider for her son.

Gardiner said the child, Akheel Amiri Palmer, was fathered by Likkle Addi, which means he is the grandson of dancehall hitmaker Adidja 'Vybz Kartel' Palmer.

Likkle Addi, at one point, appeared to have accepted paternity for the child, having posted picture of himself and the then pregnant Gardiner in 2020. He was then 15 and Gardiner was 18.

However, in May 2022, he sent shock waves throughout the entertainment and social scenes when he announced, during interview on The Fix podcast, that he was not a father.

"Mi just confirm it. Just a make the people dem know because people still a ask me. Yea, confirmed!" Likkle Addi, whose given name is Akheel Palmer, said.

Earlier this year, in response to comments from vlogger Shelly 'Shelly Teatime' Curran about the child's paternity, Likkle Addi took to social media to blast her. He said that two DNA tests were conducted and both said that he was not the father.

However, the child's mother, 20-year-old Gardiner, told THE STAR that she is confident that Likkle Addi is her baby daddy.

"I was young when I got pregnant. I wasn't sleeping around. It was just him, so I know who is the father of my child," Gardiner said.

She outlined that while she was pregnant, she went with Likkle's Addi's mother to do a DNA test to confirm the paternity of the child.

A paternity test determines a biological relationship between a baby and the father. Gardiner said a non-invasive prenatal paternity test was conducted. This involves taking a blood sample from the alleged father and the mother to conduct a fetal cell analysis. However, Gardiner is not convinced about its accuracy.

"When we got there, they pushed a needle in my hand and draw blood from me. They didn't put it in my navel and draw out the [amniotic] fluid. When I asked how they were doing it like that, they said it was a new procedure," she said.

"The results from the blood test came out '00'. When the baby born, dem seh dem a go do a new one, but no DNA was done after the baby born. None! I never knew that I would be betrayed like that. But God will deal with dem. I am not going to court about any child support or anything ... I will make it," she said.

Gardiner, who grew up in Job Lane, Spanish Town, has since migrated to the United States of America. She said that her son, Akeel, who was born in Florida, "act just like him father".

"Him have him father ways ... Him look like dem and everything. I love my son and have no regrets about having him ... he is my world. I just have to know that I am a single mother and I will work hard to support me and him," said Gardiner, an aspiring entertainer.

Sharing that she has long had a passion for music, but that her shyness has prevented her from being more upfront, Gardiner said that her time has come. Her first song, Basic, a collab with Shelly Curran is ready.

"That is just the song that is out now, but there are others. Controversy sells," she said of the song, in which she mentions Likkle Addi's name and Curran takes a swipe at his mother, Shawty.
