MoneyDonRed getting views for ‘Jah Live Forever’
California-based reggae artiste MoneyDonRed is ecstatic that visuals for his single, Jah Live Forever, has surpassed 3.2 million views over the last four months.
"It's a joy to know that I have reached such an important milestone in my career, passing the three-million threshold. This has opened doors for me, it is still playing in the streets of Jamaica and the song has been added to the playlists of major stations in the US as well," said the artiste, whose given name is Astil Franklin. MoneyDonRed is happy that authentic reggae sound can get some traction stateside.
"The success of the song shows that reggae is still a global force," he said. He is currently working on an EP titled Jah Live Forever which will feature seven tracks including the title track, as well as Thanks and Praise and Do Right.
MoneyDonRed grew up in the Washington Gardens area of St Andrew and later attended Dinthill Technical High School in Linstead, St Catherine. He rechristened himself 'MoneyDonRed', a nickname given to him by his godson, and launched himself into his recording career.
"Red symbolises wealth and prosperity, while 'Money Don' represents my growth and evolution as a recording artiste," he said.
