Substannzz discusses heartbreak on ‘Star Life’
Artekal Music recording artiste Substannzz is all smiles these days as his latest single, Star Life racked up more than 2.1 million in only four weeks on YouTube.
This is the St Thomas rhyme slinger's second major hit in the last four months, following up on the success of his breakout single, Mi Waan Rich. Star Life.
This is semi-autobiographical as it relates to a tough break-up in the rising artiste's romantic life that brought him emotional heartache and threatened to turn his life upside down.
"You know heartbreak is a thing everyone have to go through, it's just that is not a topic that most males like to discuss. But nuff people come up to me all over Jamaica and say dem can relate to it. Is a hell of a thing when a woman decide it's over and is ready to move on and live her 'star life' and leave you in the dust. You have to be strong as a man to survive that," Substannzz said. The single is presently doing well on the YouTube Trending charts, and racked more than 266,000 views over a seven-day period. Meanwhile, Substannzz is also set to release visuals for a new single, Grip Wrench, on the Artekal Music imprint. The artiste has also been confirmed to perform at this year's Sting 2024 concert at JamWorld in Portmore, St Catherine.
