Music, good food expected at Kingston Curry Festival
Fast-rising gospel artistes Prince Saj and Johnmark Wiggan headline a list of talented entertainers who are slated to ignite the 2024 staging of the Kingston Curry Festival, set for this Sunday, at Devon House, St Andrew.
Included in the stellar line-up are 2019 Jamaica Gospel Song finalist Lorenza Rowe, 2022 Digicel Rising Stars winner Mozein and rising star Melia.
Comedian Ity Ellis will keep the festivities going as the master of ceremonies.
"We are elated about our artistes this year. Patrons can expect a spectacular time from their performances. As our name suggests great food and good music. We will ensure that everyone enjoys not just the delectable curry dishes, but also the vibe that we have now become known for," said Leighton Davis, organiser and managing director of Project2Project Consultants.
"The excitement is building as vendors and chefs get ready to prepare their signature dishes for patrons. We look forward to entertaining all our guests," Davis said. More than 40 food traders have already been confirmed, including Veggie Meals on Wheels, Ali's Roti Shop, Super Spicy Doubles as well as Khazana Foods will both be selling authentic Indo-Trinidadian dishes, while the Reggae Chefs will also be doing curry oxtail.
But Davis assured, "If you are a vegetarian, do not worry. Vegetarian curries include curry sweet potato, curry ackee, curry tofu, and many others."
