Ensom City fearful following robberies

The once quiet community on Ensom City in Spanish Town, St Catherine, is no longer as peaceful due a recent spate of robberies.

Reports are that five persons were held up and robbed at gunpoint within two days. According to residents, a man and his mother were robbed by three gunmen on Saturday. And, on Friday, three women were held up at gunpoint and taken to the Ensom City Community Centre, where they were robbed of cash, cellular phones and jewellery.

It is said that both robberies occurred on Delido Drive in the community.

Meanwhile, residents said the incidents are not isolated and they have expressed serious concerns about their safety.

When checks were made with the Spanish Town Police Station, it was revealed that reports have been lodged, and the police are investigating the issue.
