Dead baby found in trash
The Kingston Central police are probing the gruesome discovery of an infant, whose body was found among trash in downtown Kingston yesterday.
The body, believed to be that of a female, was found in the vicinity of the National Gallery of Jamaica building.
Information reaching our news desk is that workers from the National Solid Waste Management Authority were conducting their usual garbage collection when they stumbled on the foetus.
THE STAR was told that the body was frozen, however, the police could not confirm or deny this.
The police were summoned to the location and the area was immediately cordoned off by scene of crime investigators.
The Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force confirmed the discovery and subsequent reports.
Investigations are ongoing.
