Man shot in gun attack dies in hospital

The Spanish Town police have upgraded its investigation into the gun attack on a man to a case of murder after he passed away in hospital from his injuries.

He is 32-year-old Chevaughn Mattis, who was shot in McVickers Lane four days ago. 

Reports are that about 8:45 p.m. on June 27, Mattis was shot by unknown assailant(s).

He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was admitted.

Mattis succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, June 30.

The investigation into the incident is being undertaken by the Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch.
