Strong winds lashing Portland

Sections of Portland are being battered by heavy winds associated with Hurricane Beryl.

The strong winds started this morning and continued to intensify.

The parish is also experiencing heavy, persistent rainfall.

Also, rough seas have dumped sand and other forms of debris along the main road in the vicinity of the Portland Parish Court at Bryans Bay. 

Meanwhile, over in St Margaret's Bay, a house lost its roof due to strong winds.

The windy conditions have also impacted power lines, affecting electricity in some areas.
