Health Ministry issues warning about leptospirosis

Members of the public are being warned by the Ministry of Health to be on the lookout for diseases such as leptospirosis that may pose a health risk from heavy rainfall.

The public is therefore being advised to avoid swimming, wading, or playing in waters that resulted from flooding.

Persons should also avoid food that could have been contaminated with animal urine.

Further, persons should wear protective clothing and footwear if you will be exposed to contaminated water and soil.
