Beryl damages roof of Norman Manley airport

A section of the roof of the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston has been damaged by Hurricane Beryl.

The country has been experiencing strong winds and heavy rainfall associated with the system.

Head of the Airports Authority of Jamaica, Audley Deidrick, indicated that the damage is at the passenger pier where jet bridges are connected.

The airport closed on Tuesday night.
