Man charged for allegedly extorting 50-y-o bus driver
A man has been arrested and charged last Friday for allegedly extorting money from a 50-year-old bus driver in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
Twenty-five-year-old Noah Hutchinson of a St Catherine address is charged with demanding money by menace.
Reports are that about 1:30 p.m. on March 6, the complainant was in his bus when he was approached by the accused who told him," A mi a collect extortion tidday".
The complainant ignored him.
Hutchinson then entered the bus and took up $6,000, which was on the dashboard.
He then reportedly wrapped the money in an elastic band and stepped out of the vehicle.
The matter reported to the police and an investigation was launched.
Hutchinson was later arrested and charged on March 14.
A court date is being finalised for his appearance.
