Kingston College's Brian Kiprop ensured Jamaica College's (JC) failure to sweep the boys' 1,500 metres as he outmuscled the latter's Kemarrio Bygrave to win the Class One final at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships at the National Stadium today.

Kiprop struck gold in 3:56.81 minutes, while Bygrave had to settle for silver in 3:57.34. St. Elizabeth Technical's Barrain Smith took bronze in 3:59.08.

JC's Cavel Nooks and Samuel Creary had earlier won the respective Class Three and Class Two 1,500 metres.
