Recording artiste Vanessa Bling, formerly known as Gaza Slim, has received an endorsement deal from international shoe brand Beauty Queen (B&Q).

Vanessa Bling is the first recording artiste to represent the brand since it started in the 1980s, despite its presence in Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Beauty Queen, which set up shop in Montego Bay in 2009, carries various foot wear, ranging from casual, party, evening and formal. Beauty Queen has supplied more than 2,000 stores islandwide.

Beauty Queen told THE WEEKEND STAR, it had been approached by various artistes and athletes. However, Vanessa Bling seems the best fit.

The artiste signed the deal with the brand last Saturday. She committed to maintain the integrity of the brand.

"This is with gratitude to God, first and foremost, that I was the chosen one to represent the B&Q brand. This is truly a benchmark deal, and I am committed in maintaining and further uplifting the integrity of this brand, in every aspect of my portfolio," she said.

THE WEEKEND STAR also spoke with marketing manager of B&Q, Peter Plummer, who said the company is also looking for a male artiste to represent the masculine version of the brand.

"Vanessa Bling was the best choice, she is also flexible to work with. The contract is for six months, but I see us working together even longer, depending on how we go from here," he said.

Vanessa Bling is also promoting a collaboration with US-based recording artiste Kranium, Notice You.
