Heineken Rio, the after-Road March party, did not disappoint, and brought the curtain down on what turned out to be a hugely successful Carnival Sunday.

The event, held on Waterloo Road, saw some patrons still decked out in their costumes from the Road March earlier.

But other revellers unbuttoned and zipped down their feathery outfits to get comfortable and 'palance'.

By 9 p.m., the venue was almost filled to capacity and at times, things got testy between the security personnel and patrons seeking to enter the venue.

The shout by a member of the security team that tickets were finished did not help the situation, as some patrons had seemingly made up their minds to enter, no matter what, and began pushing the perimeter fence.

Additional security had to be deployed to that section and the potentially threatening situation was calmed.

ALL GENRES REPRESENTED

All genres were represented as DJs Bishop Escobar and Private Ryan kept the crowd dancing during their respective sets.

The biggest 'forwards' were saved for the more recent tunes, including Masicka and Vybz Kartel's Infrared, Kartel's Mhm Hm (Buck Up Inna) and Ding Dong's Flairy.

On the soca side, Bunji Garlin's Carnival Tabanca and Truck On Di Road, Ricardo Drue's Vagabond, and Skinny Fabulous, Worst Behaviour stirred up the masses.

The bars were kept busy and patrons were treated to Heineken deals.

The organisers, in keeping with their responsible drinking campaign, staged several five-minute water breaks where no alcohol was being sold to allow drinkers to keep hydrated.
