Cutting edge sound systems, RockWildaz and Simple Touch, have been soaring to new heights since their joint victory in the Guinness Sounds of Greatness (GSOG) clash. Both sound systems have reported experiencing a surge in visibility since sharing the title last month.

"This competition has given us a platform far beyond what we ever imagined," said DJ Danejah of RockWildaz.

Simple Touch and RockWildaz were declared co-winners of the GSOG last month after organisers decided to forgo the final, opting instead to direct energies to helping the nation recover from the effects of Hurricane Beryl. The exposure from a global platform has not only boosted both sound systems' visibility and respect within the sound system community but also opened doors for increased bookings and collaborations with artistes, setting the stage for both teams to expand their influence and impact within the industry.

RockWildaz and Simple Touch both hail from communities where music is deeply embedded in daily life. Simple Touch, from Carlisle in Red Bank, St Elizabeth, nurtured their DJ dreams from an early age.

"Music was always a constant in our lives," DJ Axy of Simple Touch reminisced. "Watching older DJs and MCs at round robins inspired us to pursue this path, and now we're living that dream."

Similarly, RockWildaz, from Central Village in Big Lane, Spanish Town, St Catherine, faced numerous challenges early on. Despite the struggle of unpaid gigs, their dedication to music never wavered.

"I always believed I'd become one of Jamaica's top DJs," said DJ Kre Kre. "That belief kept me going, and now it's paying off."

As they move forward, RockWildaz and Simple Touch are poised to embrace new opportunities with enthusiasm. RockWildaz, once uncertain about their place in the clash arena, is now making strategic moves to solidify their presence. "We're definitely making some moves," RockWildaz' DJ Kre Kre said.

Simple Touch is equally excited about their future prospects. "This victory is a milestone for us," DJ Axy said. "We're looking forward to international bookings and participating in clashes both locally and globally."
