Seeking My Dream to make waves on debut

SEEKING MY DREAM reports razor sharp for his season debut on Saturday and should do no less than cut his five rivals to shreds in the 1500-metre Chairman's Trophy.

After taking things quite easy at exercise, clocking 1:02.2 in a five-furlong spin on February 18, a week later Wayne DaCosta asked jockey Omar Walker to dust off the cobweb gathered since December's Diamond Mile.

Walker did just that and SEEKING MY DREAM responded with 1:05.1 for five-and-a-half furlongs, the last five in 59.0. The following week, last Saturday, the chestnut terror blasted 1:11.4 for six furlongs, working like a horse on a Santa Anita simulcast programme.

Racing against three of his stablemates, old rival FRANFIELD and Gary Subratie's imported BRAWN, SEEKING MY DREAM being unsaddled in the winners' enclosure appears a done deal.

Never mind that FRANFIELD had beaten him by a length at the same handicaps in this race last year, SEEKING MY DREAM was made to run one of the fastest six-furlong splits ever recorded at Caymanas Park, a mind-boggling 1:09.3, for which he paid the price inside the last half-furlong.

FRANFIELD will prefer the extended distance and should turn the table on BRAWN after losing second to the American, behind CAMPESINO, in last month's 1300-metre Eileen Cliggott Trophy.
