Girlfriend wants to protect my private parts

August 28, 2024

Dear Pastor,

I am 21 and my girlfriend is 22. Her dad is a doctor. One day she came to a cricket match.

One of my friends was hit on his testicles and it was very painful. He could not continue playing, so he had to leave. My girlfriend looked at me and said he should have been wearing a cup. She suggested that if I am going to play, I should wear one. I did not continue talking to her about it, but she raised the matter with me again. Evidently, she talked to her father about what happened and he told her that with some sports that men play, they should be very careful in protecting their groin.

To my surprise, one Sunday evening when we were going out, my girlfriend gave me a package. When I opened it, there were two cups in there. She told me that some girls love to see a man looking buffy down there when he might be wearing a cup and people think that he is large. I have used one of the cups. It is uncomfortable, but I thanked my girlfriend for her concern. I did not know about cups until my girlfriend brought it to my attention.

This letter is only a warning to all men who are engaged in rough sports to protect themselves by wearing cups.

T.C.

Dear T.C.,

You have an intelligent girlfriend. When I was a teenager, one of my teachers was taking part in a cricket match and he was hit by a fast bowler in his groin.

He could not continue playing and I was told that the doctor said he had to get medical attention because the pain was severe. So your girlfriend questioned you about whether you wear cups when you are engaged in certain sports. You never thought about that and she bought you two cups and told you to protect yourself. She is a good woman; a very good one too.
