I used to have sex with both of my sisters

Dear Pastor,

I have had a problem and I have never told anybody about it. I am a male and I was living with my siblings.

When we were children, we all slept together. We were very poor and space in the house was limited. I grew up seeing my sisters tidying themselves. They didn't even have to hide. We did not have bathrooms, so my sisters were always using the bath pan to tidy. If it was late in the evening, they just used the chamber pot to urinate and took it out early in the morning.

I am ashamed to say that my sisters and I used to have sex all the time. We did it as if nothing was wrong. Sometimes they used to touch me to have sex with them. I am not proud of it, but nobody knew about it. I took the virginity of both sisters. I don't know how they told their boyfriends about how they lost their virginity. My sisters and I live well. I am now living in America and they are still in Jamaica. But I make sure that they get money from me often. I wonder how they didn't get pregnant for me, because I never used protection.

When I met the woman I got married to, she asked me if I ever had sex and I told her yes. She was sexually active, but I didn't care who she was having sex with at the time. My parents didn't pay much attention to us when we were at home. My father only wanted to know that we had enough to eat. When he came home, he always asked, "Did you all eat?" I don't have anything against my father, because he tried with us.

My sisters got training from HEART and they are working, but neither is married. Do you think that I am a wicked guy for having sex with them? We did it numerous times. Sometimes we did it more than once for the night. I have one boy and a girl, who sleep in separate rooms.

Now that I have told you part of my story, I feel better. I will always read your column.

Thanks for your letter. I am glad that you feel that you could speak to me freely about the way you grew up.

I hope that your sisters will protect their children from the type of life that they live. Evidently, you were very poor and did not have the convenience that children should have at home. I believe that when your sisters look back, they will realise that they engaged in incest with you, their brother who took their virginity.

Some years ago, I mentioned on radio that it is wrong to engage in sexual activities with your siblings, and a man called me and was very upset. He said that these things are popular among children, so I should not mention them. He was not satisfied because on another occasion, I said something else on the topic. The man called again and was very, very upset.

The Bible tells me that it is wrong for brothers and sisters to engage in sex with each other. It is called incest. Anyone who has sex with his sister, brother or mother, for example, is guilty of incest and can face the court and be imprisoned if convicted. I can understand that your siblings didn't even understand what they were doing. Many children who engage in such activities don't understand that incest is a serious offence. Now that you are an adult, I hope that you will try your very best to do what is right. I am glad that your sisters got some training at HEART and I hope they will do well.
