Reggae foundation artistes Lutan Fyah and Jah Mason are spreading the "positive" musical message of reggae in an authentic fashion on their 'Roots and Culture 3 Tour' in Europe, which kicked off on March 1.

Lutan Fyah, who is also promoting his album, Strength and Resilience, shared that the reception has been overwhelmingly positive.

"This has been one of the greatest Lutan Fyah tours in Europe so far because I have a new album weh just release-- Strength and Resilience--and it a get a good vibes, everybody loving it yuh nuh; suh it's doing great on this tour," the musical warrior told THE STAR.

The singer described the most fulfilling part of the experience as seeing the fans "jumping and prancing to the music".

"It's an amazing feeling and felt different from all the experiences before. They were also excited to purchase their albums, vinyl [records], and Lutan Fyah merches after the shows, so I guess that's what adds to the experience being so unique and it excites mi--mi feel good," he said.

Lutan Fyah also observed the diverse turnout at his performances, with both young and older fans showing appreciation for reggae music.

"I'm not saying it's sold out, but most of the venues pack and everybody happy and joyful... People always seh Europe is the ground for reggae festivals and tours, and I've been travelling around this side from 2006. For me, the vibe change wherein the way people in Europe and across the world today listen music is not like how they used to listen like 15 or 20 years ago.

"The music nowadays [resonates] with people if it's a nice tune or if after they listen for 10 seconds dem catch it. But with reggae music, it's a listening deeply kinda meditation vibes where the fanbase is more older nowadays in Europe and America," said the Spliff Tail singer.

For Jah Mason, who is touring Europe for the first time in more than 12 years, being a supporting act on this tour has revived his career and opened new opportunities to share his artistry.

"It's very important to me because it give us the platform and prepare us for the festivals and pon a wider scale for me, it [allows] me to reconnect with mi fans all over Europe, where I even received a standing ovation during this tour. So it's important for me from a career standpoint too, with me dropping my album next year," he shared.

Jah Mason's internationally acclaimed single Princess Gone has been experiencing renewed success in the European market since his return to the Roots and Culture 3 Tour.

"Mi dida come a Europe before Princess Gone, enuh, but [that song] is what cemented me because di people dem kinda connect to dah song deh and nuff adda big songs like Mi Chalwa and Farmer Man because a dat a mi signature name out yah suh--'Farma Man'. But Princess Gone have a different love and connection--teenagers are singing it [and] di mothers dem a tell dem daughters dem seh 'Yow, a dah song yah mek yuh, enuh," he laughed.

The reggae stalwarts, who have been touring for two weeks, emphasised the significance of showcasing authentic reggae music. The tour is scheduled to run until March 30, culminating in Hamburg, Germany.
