Popular selector Bishop Escobar celebrated his birthday in fine style last Saturday at a party presented by manager Romeich Entertainment and Guinness.

But, the party that was advertised to start at 8 p.m. did not get in motion until the clock struck 12 midnight, when the who's who of dancehall, such as entertainers Ding Dong and the Ravers Clavers, Shenseea, Teejay, Stylo G and other heavyweight personalities like Sher Luxury Doll and Kimiko Versatile stepped through the gates of the St Lucia Car Park venue.

Late start aside, Bishop Escobar was in good spirits, maintaining a smile that matched the name of his party, Bright and White, as he entered the venue, making it his duty to greet all the patrons who had secured their spots from early with the same pleased expression.

The Romeich Entertainment-signed disc jockey did not touch the controls, instead, team member DJ Antsman, and Renaissance Disco's DJ's Shella and Spugy kept the birthday vibes at a high.

After the DJ's exited the stage, about 1:55 a.m., the volume was cut, leaving some patrons to wonder if the party was going to be locked off. However, with long lines of patrons still waiting to enter the already-packed venue, law enforcers approved for the celebration to continue for one more hour, once there was no talking over the microphone.

This ultimately meant that the live performances, including that of Govana, Jahvillani and the Romeich Entertainment artistes, which were expected to take place, would not happen again.

However, that did not dampen the mood for Bishop Escobar, who told The STAR: "Taking into consideration what is happening to events around the Corporate Area, I am overwhelmed that my birthday party still got a full house and the people look like them a enjoy the energy despite everything."

The music that played at a satisfactory volume until 3 a.m. when the organisers, sponsors and patrons obediently adhered to the wishes of the police to turn off the music and exit the venue.
